Voice Instructor

Dr. Elizabeth Peters, founder of Heart and Soul Voice Studio and a lyric coloratura soprano in Papillion, Nebraska, has extensive performing and teaching experience in opera, musical theater, oratorio, and contemporary music. As a performer she debuted her opera role of Gilda (Rigoletto) in San Marino and Novafeltria, Italy under the direction of Joseph Rescigno. She performed the lead role of Andrée in the World Premiere of Neely Bruce’s oratorio, Circular 14: Apotheosis of Aristides at the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Peters has performed many leading roles in musical theater, professionally recorded popular and new works in production studios in Salt Lake City, as well as being the lead vocal soloist in a professional jazz combo. Overall, performing such diverse styles of music and living and working in multifarious environments has enriched her teaching and artistry. While she continues to perform as a soloist and concert artist, her deepest passion is teaching. In 2022 she founded Heart and Soul Voice Studio to create a warm, supportive environment where singers of all ages can develop healthy technique while singing with genuine expression and joy. With over twenty years of collegiate and private studio teaching experience, Dr. Peters brings exceptional expertise to Heart and Soul Voice. She previously served as Music Department Chair and Voice Coordinator/Faculty at Mid-Plains Community College (2010–2017), where she taught applied voice, directed choral ensembles, and developed new music programs. She also held positions as Voice Faculty at the University of Utah School of Music (2017–2020) and Brigham Young University–Idaho (2008–2010). Her students have earned collegiate scholarships, superior ratings at music contests, and professional opportunities—including placements in Broadway’s Next On Stage National Competition and performances with touring artists. Whether you are a young singer taking your first steps or an experienced performer refining your craft, Dr. Peters creates a nurturing space where technical excellence and artistic soul come together. At Heart and Soul Voice Studio, every voice is heard, supported, and encouraged to shine.
